Yes, Celtic have only put the remaining tickets on sale at 5pm on Monday evening but the number of tickets unsold for the club’s Europa League game is pretty disheartening.

The fans packed in to see the Bhoys fall to Cluj in the Champions League last week and this week it looks like some have had their fill.

Apathy for this stage of the Europa completion has always been there. When Athens put Celtic out of the CL at the same stage last year there was a crowd of just over 44k at Celtic Park to see the Bhoys qualify for the group stage at the expense of Suduva.

Celtic have HCTS members banked but over and above that, there’s a lot of season ticket holders who at this point have said no thanks.

The blue areas signify there are still seats to be sold in that section. Granted, it lights up blue even if there’s only one seat available but as we clicked around the ground there were a lot of seats still to be filled.

We were an advocate of Celtic making this game a bonus on the season ticket to make sure of a bumper crowd on the night or even make them very cheap so it was a no brainier to come along. Instead, they charged £20 for adult season ticket holders, with the general sale going between £22-£27. After shelling out for two rounds of the Champions League and a £15 ticket to watch Dunfermline the Celtic board could have done more here to avoid a low attendance. Remember too, just because someone is on the HCTS, it doesn’t mean they’re going to use their seat.

  1. I was even luckier. Had chance to buy season ticket. However £509 to sit behind the goals was a definite no no. Seems I made the correct choice. While this board refuse to back the manager with real funds to get Celtic back in the group stages I will continue to deprive the club I love of my hard earned cash. I agree that the only way to make this board to sit up and take notice is to starve it of cash until they are prepared to listen. Let’s be honest most buy a season ticket so they get to watch Celtic compete against the best in Europe because Scottish football is dire

  2. The support is still gutted after what has bee a shambolic, in terms of strengthening, preparation for the CL, and a farcical performance in the game last week . We have a problem and it needs sorting.

  3. Refusal to attend to the urgent matter of team strengthining has cost the Hoops support massively. Time has come for the board to reciprocate. Just fill the stadia with a load of tramps and junkies (with their glass luggage removed)

Or leave it half empty, or even as sparsely populated as the Az Alkmarr friendly game. When they had more players on both benches, than in the main stand’s watching the game.
