TalkSport presenter and Celtic fan, Alan Brazil has claimed that he reckons, Celtic midfielder Oliver Ntcham has ‘downed tools’, after his performance against Lille last night.

As reported by the Glasgow Times, Brazil questioned Ntcham’s want to be their last night, after the Ligue 1 side came from 2-0 down to grab a point.

“Ntcham, he looks as if he’s tools down and not bothered. I think when Celtic get the squad back then it’s going to be close. Neil [Lennon] doesn’t have a great squad, but in terms of Scottish football, Celtic’s squad is as good as any so they’ve just got to get on with it and go on a run.”

The midfielder has come in for his fair share of criticism after last nights display.

For me, he looked good in the first-half but the second was a completely different story and towards the end when he was substituted for Stephen Welsh, he looked out on his feet completely.

I think it may be a bit harsh to say he has downed tools, but we do need to see more performances like his first-half one last night, so he can show us what he can do and get the best out of him as a player.

Luckily for us, if he isn’t performing, we have plenty of players in and around that area of the field, who can play there. We all know how good the Frenchman can be though, hopefully we get to see that best side of him more often than not, soon.

  1. Celtic do not get as much out of this player as they should, too many indifferent, inept performances from him , his commitment to the. Side always seems to be in question, vastly overrated in my opinion. No consistency from him

  2. He ‘can’ be good just isn’t good enough for Celtic.
It’s either silky or sulky from Ntcham, but 7-8 times out of 10 its the latter….and despite a terrific performance last night,MOI is in the same bracket. Lennon has to demand more from both, and more often.
Over the course of a season,we are playing with ten and half men.
    Harsh? I don’t think so.

  3. ntcham was impressive in the first half, and completely anonymous in the second. to me he looked out on his feet from about 50 minutes yet somehow lennon left him on for another 30.
we basically played with ten men for 30 plus minutes in the second half. if hed been replaced around the hour mark, i think wed have won.

  4. Just watch his body language…his shoulders slump, arms and hands hang really low and his facial expressions are like that of a kid who’s playing a school team game on a winters day and daydreaming of getting back home to his pyjamas and playstation.
He just disappears up his own arse at times for no apparent reason.
