Former Celtic midfielder Kris Commons has took a massive swipe at Celtic ultras and their dangerously unhealthy obsession with ten in a row.

The pundit believes these fans have gone too far and a man they once defended against disgusting abuse from the other side of Glasgow have now turned in the most toxic of ways.

There was no issue with a protest, people’s presence at Celtic Park during a tier four pandemic would’ve been enough but the unsavoury scenes on social media and players having to be escorted to cars is something which I’ve never seen before and quite frankly, ever want to see again.

Commons tears in into these fans for their behaviour on the night and believes you can still want Neil Lennon out but be respectful of a Celtic legend who has given a lot to this club.

”The same people who would tell Lennon that he’d ‘never walk alone’ when he was going through some of his darkest days on a personal level amid sectarian abuse. commons wrote in his Mail column, cited by RecordSport.

“Frankly, the fans involved in those protests last night should be ashamed of themselves. In the fullness of time, this will be viewed as a desperately dark day for the club.

“Yeah, if they want a change of manager, then fair enough. But there’s a way to express your opinion and that certainly wasn’t it.

“It is moronic behaviour and all the more so when they’ve clearly broken every rule in the book in the middle of a pandemic.

“The sense of entitlement that has developed among the fanbase in recent years has been staggering. Particularly in the younger ‘Ultras’, the obsession with 10 in a row has become dangerously unhealthy.”

Celtic have gone through a horrible spell and fans are right to be upset with the boards inaction. Neil Lennon looks like he can’t take this team any further, that happens in football, he should have been relieved of his duties last week after the Prague debacle but the board members clinging to a domestic hope saw those expectations go out the window against County.
