Former Celtic striker John Hartson has revealed his worry that the title may be lost as early as before the split.

Speaking on the Celtic Exchange podcast, Hartson is concerned and has warned that the Hoops need to be careful if they don’t want to lose the league before the spilt in April, whilst also stating that anyone who thinks there is a title race is ‘a bit deranged’.

“Listen, it’s gone now.

“The league is gone and I think anybody who says that it’s not… I think they’re a bit deranged.

“As you can see Rangers have lost no games all season, if anything Celtic has to be careful they don’t lose the league before the split.

“In terms of how Rangers are going, they’ll probably go to Motherwell and win.

“The chance was to come back from Dubai, win-win-win, and hopefully Rangers slip up. It hasn’t quite happened like that.

“For me, the league was gone anyway when we lost at Ibrox and we went 19 points behind.

“I said it would be amazing to come back from that amount of points, Rangers weren’t going to lose five or six games – they’ve not lost all season so why are they suddenly going to lose five or six?

“The points difference now is 20 and a goal difference of 23: that’s 21 points.

It is extremely frustrating that we are only in the middle of January and yet the majority of the Celtic support is admitting the title race is over, and rightly so.

In what has been a disastrous season just appears to be getting worse and worse, not only on the park but also off the park.

The drop off this season is probably arguably one of the biggest in Scottish Football. Going from 9 in a row title winners to now going on a run of results winning just 7 games in the last 21.
