Sky Sports pundit Davie Provan believes that Celtic’s deal to bring Eddie Howe to the club as manager is ‘done’ because the club and Dermot Desmond wouldn’t allow themselves to be embarrassed by being rejected at this stage.

As quoted by the The Herald, speaking on Go Radio Provan has been very critical of the Celtic board and their actions this season especially in the time it has taken to appoint the next manager of the club.

However, reading between the lines he believes it could be a done deal, with Howe yet to rule himself out despite lots of speculation surrounding a move to Celtic.

“I don’t think for a moment Dermot Desmond would have exposed himself to the possibility of being embarrassed by Eddie Howe. And Eddie Howe himself has chosen not to rule himself out.

“So reading between the lines I think there’s an agreement, I think it’s a done deal.

“I’m pretty sure Celtic will be working away in the background to beef that squad up because it’s going to be a wholesale change of the type that we haven’t seen for a long, long time.”

Fans have been left frustrated after the season we have had at the lack of communication from the club when it comes to our pursuit of the next permanent manager.

But with all the rumours that seem to be coming out about this, it only seems to be pointing towards Howe’s appointment, being all but down apart from some details that could include the backroom staff he is looking to bring to the club.

Fingers crossed we don’t have to wait too much longer before hearing some positive news.

  1. What a load of crap, they’ve totally embarrassed themselves for this seasons nightmare season, so nothing they do now would shock me. They should be ashamed at losing the 10.
