Sky Sports pundit Andy Walker has claimed that Odsonne Edouard will leave Celtic this summer as the club are ‘burning through cash’.

In recent weeks, Edouard has been linked with moves away to several clubs. However, manager Neil Lennon has made the case that he is desparate to keep the star striker at the club.

As reported by Glasgow Times, Walker has told Sky Sports he believes that the club will move the Frenchman on after the financial hit the club has suffered that have been suffered due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

“Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard is clearly destined to eventually play in a bigger league.

“He was voted by the Scottish football writers as their player of the year last season and it was an easy call to make.

“He is an outstanding talent, capable of playing for a top-six club in the Premier League and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Celtic took money for him now given how much cash they are burning every month with very little coming in.”

As mentioned, Edouard is destined for the top with the talent and ability he has. He cannot be allowed to leave this season though.

The striker is a crucial part of Neil Lennon’s squad and if he was allowed to leave, it would take a huge hit in quality.

Of course, if a club was to come in and offer astonishing amounts of money for him, then then we may be left with  no choice. With over a week left in the window though, it really wouldn’t be a sensible decision and the boardroom would face massive backlash from huge sections of the Celtic support.
