Top Australian sports journalist Vince Rugari delivered a brilliant response to the rumours surrounding Celtic and Riley McGree.
The Socceroo star finished a loan deal with Birmingham and rejoined his parent club Charlotte on January 1st.
The Hoops boss is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing in Riley – a player Ange has known for a very long time.
Addressing the rumours – while Vince couldn’t speak to the legitimacy of the reports – he did give glowing praise and suggested the midfielder would be a great signing for Celtic.
Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi coming in to play in midfield means if Celtic do sign Riley, there will be incredible competition for places in a section of the park we’ve struggled to keep players for this year.
Celtic are currently in phase 2 of their rebuild under Ange and the manager appears to be getting a massive say.
The Japanese trio signings came straight from Ange’s wish list and you’d have to image Riley has been flagged by the former Socceroo boss.
