CRAIG GORDON has admitted he never seen himself playing 200 games for Celtic even after he came back from a career threatening injury.

The Scottish goalkeeper took his place between the stick against Dundee on Wednesday and in doing so hit the landmark 200 games with 100 of those being clean sheets.

It’s quite remarkable.

Speaking about the feat, Gordon realises how much is hard work has paid off since nearly leaving the game completely.

“I’ve managed 200 extra games in my career and that’s just Celtic, not including internationals. It’s more than 200 from a time when I thought I wasn’t going to play another one, so whatever happens from now on is always going to be a lot easier to deal with.

“Did I think I’d play 200 games when I signed for Celtic? No. I was just reminded of it after the Dundee game when someone said to me: ‘Who would have thought you would have played 200 games when you signed?’

Gordon would have made it 200 sooner had he not been out injured since January and many were surprised to see him come back in so early after a knee injury that threatened his season.

He now has to fight it out with Scott Bain for Celtic’s number one jersey and many fans are waiting to see who Rodgers will go with Sunday and beyond.
