There have been productive talks in how to get football back in Scotland next season with a radical new camera set up being installed at every SPFL ground it has emerged.

RecordSport claim the SPFL are seriously looking into the possibility of AI automated camera systems which track the play throughout the pitch as the game goes. This would negate the d for camera men inside the stadium as the league looks to reduce the risks posed by too many people in the ground on match days.

Celtic already have this system installed and it’s believed SPFLs partner Pixellot works alongside the company which designs and installs the kit.

The report claims it would cost £20k per stadium to implement and would be a viable option to get as many games on the tv as possible going forward. This would see the likes of Ibrox, Fir Park and Easter Road getting the new hardware in what could allow for multiple games to be screened.

The SPFL are having to face up to the reality of the situation — supporters could be locked out of the game for a long while yet.
