It would appear Rafa Benitez is taking his time on where he will end up next in football. It’s the time of season where managers start losing their jobs and clubs look to bring someone new in to steer the ship into next season.

However, even though Benitez is unattached, MailSport has confirmed the Spaniard has turned down the chance to talk to Bournemouth about the job opening down south.

The club were looking at bringing in the Liverpool icon as soon as possible but the report from MailSport claims Benitez is not in a rush to find his new club and will most certainly wait until the summer to see the lay of the land.

There will be more managerial casualties between now and the end of the season. Benitez knows his stocks high enough he can land a decent gig down south.

The only way we could see Celtic bringing the manager into Parkhead would be if we pulled out all the stops.

While Rafa has been linked heavily with the Hoops boss in recent times, the fact we’re looking at a director of football makes me think the club aren’t going to approach or even consider.

  1. And where would the money come to fund Benitez flights of fancy.

The amount of money that man spent at Newcastle on absolute dross was eye watering.

Benitez buys titles. It’s not what Celtic need or want, or for that matter afford.
