In eight days time, the season will be over and all the medals will have been handed out.

That’s when the real work starts for Celtic. During the off-season, they need to appoint a new manager and give him vital funds to freshen up his side ahead of four Champions League qualifiers.

As we go into this weekend there’s one man who is the clear bookies favourite to take over this summer and it’s also one of the more exciting but unrealistic choices.

At this moment, Rafa Benitez is STILL the bookies favourite. Here is the top five list from the sack race:

  1. Benitez
  2. Lennon
  3. Hughton
  4. Moyes
  5. Bilic

The list gives you a clear indication of where the betting has gone this week due to media reports, sackings and speculation.

Rafa is up at the top because he’s yet to sign a new deal with Newcastle and he overtook Neil Lennon who had been sitting favourite since taking over in February.

The Irishman is likely to return to the top of the betting odds if he lands the club a treble treble next week.

Right now, nobody really knows what Peter Lawwell and Dermot Desmond are thinking.

  1. Did SG not say that he would talk to Rafa Benitez for advice he said that.

    This job is for Lennon

if we have any chance of getting nine then he is the only bet in town none of rest understand what its all about in Scotland and would drag there feet for months before they got started by then nine would be gone..

  2. I can guess what the suit’s are thinking :::::::::: Its ‘if he (Neil Lennon) can get our players heads out of the sand for two more footballing games, we will go with him. Until Brendan Rogers comes back, with hit tail between his legs,
should he get the boot by them (Leicester)’ As we let a good thing go. Because of internal friction and budgeting matters.
