Raith Rovers boss John McGlynn pinpointed Celtic attacking midfielder Tom Rogic as a potential danger for his side as they prepare for the trip to Parkhead on Thursday.

Speaking to Raith TV, McGlynn, who was once a scout at Parkhead, claimed that the Australian midfielder has a ‘new lease of life’ under Ange Postecoglou as he spoke about the Hoops threat from midfield.

“He [Rogic] seems to have got a new lease of life.

“He is playing at the top of his game right now.

“He is a massive threat in midfield, with Turnbull, with Callum McGregor getting back, they’ve got Soro, they’ve got McCarthy.

“There are a number of players that can play in there.

“Mikey Johnston was on the bench at the weekend; Mikey is a great player. He could start the game.

“They have got a number of players who could come back into the reckoning for the game.

“So, difficult to pick their team, you’d normally have a go at trying to pick the team, but I think the shape is going to be similar.

“It is a going to be a 4-2-3-1, a 4-3-3, so that’s what we have got to have to prepare for, set ourselves up to play against and be ready for.”

In the last few months, Tom Rogic’s Celtic career has been rejuvenated under Postecoglou.

Not many knew where his career in Glasgow was headed after the last couple of seasons. However, the former Socceroos boss has got him back to playing some of his best stuff in midfield.

At this moment in time, he is being heavily relied on alongside David Turnbull in that area of the pitch due to the Hoops lack of options in that area of the field.

So, there is a high chance he could be in for another start on Thursday night against Raith Rovers.

If that is to be the case, McGlynn’s men will need to be on top form to stop the midfielder from dictating play, which he has shown he is capable of at Celtic Park this campaign.
