Anthony Ralston has come out in the wake of the Dundee Utd draw at Celtic Park to insist the team are pulling in the right direction and will get their heads down for Thursday now.
The Hoops failed to get all three points at home on a frustrating day at Celtic Park. Hitting the crossbar on three occasions, Ajeti missing a sitter and a goal being chopped off. It’s not rosy at all in the garden of Celtic.
The challenge up next is frightening when you think of the injuries we currently have and the lack of results against SPFL opposition.
Bayer Leverkusen come to town in match day two of the Europa League. If Celtic don’t make home advantage count in the competition, they could find themselves bottom of the group for the second year running.
Speaking about the game Ralston revealed the disappointment:
“We’re disappointed we didn’t get the win. We come into every game with the intention to win, of course, but it’s a point on the board and now we have to focus on Thursday with another massive game coming up.
“We get back on to the training pitch and continue to work.
“We’ve been a bit unfortunate with the injuries. But we’ve got a quality group and depth also, with the players able to come in and help the team.”
“We’ll be going into the training ground and putting the work in for a big game on Thursday.”
Celtic will play Leverkusen on Thursday evening followed by Aberdeen on Sunday before they can regroup during the international break. Guys like Kyogo, and Giakoumakis should be staying put at Lennoxtown in order to make sure they’re fit come the restart.
