RB Leipzig will be without Konrad Laimer for up to six weeks [@philipphinze24].

This is a huge injury blow for the Bundesliga side with back-to-back matches against Celtic coming up in the Champions League.

RB Leipzig currently sit bottom of Group F after two matches on zero points.

The German side were battered on matchday one in a smash and grab job by Shakhtar Donetsk.

Poor defensive mistakes led to a 4-1 defeat at home which consequently meant that Domenico Tedesco lost his job at the club.

It’s been all change at the club since with the arrival of Leipzig native Marco Rose.

They bounced back at the weekend with a fantastic 3-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund and held Madrid in the Santiago Bernabeu until the 80th minute of the match.

Madrid’s quality was just too much as goals from Federico Valverde and Marco Asensio put the game out of reach for Leipzig.

Laimer featured in the Bundesliga victory for Rose’s side but was subbed off towards the end of the match.

The 25-year old midfielder will be a huge miss for the club over the course of the next few weeks.

Many will look at the both matches between Celtic and RB Leipzig and think that these games will pretty much decide the fate of both teams in the competition.
