CELTIC fell to a frustrating defeat at Ibrox today.

Both sides at their periods of dominance and Celtic missed a fantastic opportunity to take the lead. A draw would have been a fair result but, unfortunately, we have to take the defeat on the chin.

One major talking point during and after the game was Kyogo Furuhashi’s position. The Japanese frontman was put out wide by Ange Postecoglou today and Edouard got the nod up front. When Eddy went off and Kyogo went through the middle, we actually made more chances and the wee man could have scored.

It’s left many Celtic fans of the opinion that Kyogo is wasted out wide and should 100% be our first choice striker – through the middle.

Celtic suffer their second defeat of the season and will now have to play catch up. Things aren’t lost yet and we must bounce back after the international break.

There’s a lot of football to be played and players to be bedded in to this side. I’m confident in our direction, but there’s going to be bumps along the way.

  1. Midfield posted missing today, looked better once Rogic & Soro came on.
McGregor disappeared in the 2nd half while Turnbull & Christie were poor.
Worryingly those 3 never turn up against Sevco.

  2. Hindsight I know but 11 that finished looked a better balance than 11 that started – abada disappeared after 20 mins ,him + eddy cant have passengers in a Glasgow Derby ffs !

  3. We’d a good first half, should have been ahead. We let them back into it. We played poorly 2nd half.
European football beckons and we know we will improve. Defence was awesome and front 3 wasteful.

  4. It’s time for Edouard and Christie to go. Eddy was as good as a man short and Christie gives the ball to the opposition at every opportunity. Cash in NOW while we still can.

  5. If Eddie stays I still wouldn’t let him pull on a Celtic jersey again…..disinterested!
I think everyone knows Kyogo best through middle.
Sorry but Soro full of stray passes and stupid fouls.
But on bright side it’s early days and by end of month will see several others available for selection.

    • People have got carried away with a couple of good results against poor opposition, this is an average CELTIC team with one predictable tactic which has failed as soon as we played good teams and will fail again against better euro teams.

  6. Edouard needs to be sold, as does Christie, who also failed again to make an impact against a bigger team. Abada was pretty woeful but he is still only 19 and is having to play in these big games because Forrest is a perpetual layabout on the sick bed. Turnbull was also pathetic, as he was against Alkmaar, a clear sign that he does not possess sufficient quality for the bigger games. I cannot get my head around this Edouard business, though. He let Lennon down time and again and now he’s doing the same to Ange. I don’t know what they see in him, he’s a shadow of the player of 2 years ago and yet they keep putting their trust in him. Sell him on along with Christie and get new quality players in. These guys cost us last year and they’re at it again this year – time to get them out!

  7. HH Celtic was rotten looked like Lennon’s team from the last yr, players looked scared timed no 2 places went to the right player, Turbull Christie not in the game don’t know what happened hh ktf

    • Rotten??,Celtic played some nice one touch football particularly in the first half.Second half we didn’t string so much passes together but actually created better chances than we did in first half. The defence were solid enough especially Starfelt who despite being slow to jump to stop Hellander at the goal still managed to put in his best performance in the hoops.Agree with you on Turnbull and Christie who were nowhere the form they have been in so far this season.I have been Christies biggest critic, especially last season given the amount of moves that broke down, with him either misplacing a pass, being caught in posession or blazing a wild shot way off target, but he has been in fine form previous tu this game tbf.Edouarde whether he’s going or not needs to be dropped, with Kyogo played thro the middle.I’m extremelly confident will go from strenghth to strength under Ange especially with the new additions which are more than expected to arrive before Tuesdays deadline HH

  8. I had hoped that Tom Rogic would have been brought on at half-time and the tactical changes needed would have been made then. When Edouard went off and Kyoto played through middle we created more chances and unlucky not to get the equalizer. Simply a mixture of frustration & disappointment as they were there for the taking.

  9. Athanasius, could not agree with you more…spot on!
Christie has never played a good old firm game…he has to go

I thought our defence was very good today…apart from the goal

  10. Poor old Christie is either genius or crap; no in-between.
I once had a car like Edouard; great for the first year and then nothing but trouble after that so got rid.

  11. Where yous morons watching the same game as i was
thought we were a team again with positive players all through us
    Aye we lost but
    WE ARE BACK
    just a little patience Bhoys
    HH

  12. Unfortunately Big Ange has had to learn the hard way after the defeat today, At least he knows what it will take to win the Scottish league.Hopefully someone will still buy Big Eddy he’s been a great servant to Celtic but is time to go,looking at the manager after the game he knows he made the mistake of trying
To accommodate Eddy for kyuogo in the middle that was a glaring mistake. We will improve even more with the couple of new signings supposedly coming. In Ange We Trust
I have no doubt we will win the league. By the way Kuyogu is the quickest I’ve seen over 20 yards since Bobby Lennox HailHail from Johannesburg

  13. Edouard and Christie must be sold both had a poor games but Christie with bad passing and what about his only shot right over the roof and what about his fouls out side our box if you going take some one down do around half way line he was poor and is dead wood to our team he wants away but no one wants to pay money for him any money celtic get for him Christie take it and run,as for Edouard so long old pal you want away but wages i read is stopping you going more dead wood a kid could have scored that one you missed….

  14. Edwouard decision made by the board?!!
Need to sell him, don’t believe that decision was made by Ange.
    Nothing changes.

  15. Rather worried about the Referee today it seems like he wasn’t biased towards Rangers and no penalties given, it has taken 10 years to win a league title we cannot afford another 10.

  16. What HelpMurderPolis said.
It seems today’s game was a league decider!
The Huns singing champions again hallo hallo, or something.
Big Ange needs to nail that video up on the changing room wall!!

  17. Ange is Celtics best signing so far, he will given time overturn rangers and put them back were they belong 2nd or even lower. Once this team settle, and ange gets all the pieces in place, there will be no stopping us. One mistake cost us today, and had Eduard taken that open goal it would have been a different story. Celtic supporter faithfull through and through.
