BRENDAN RODGERS has told Celtic fans if the club can get Mulumbo and Benkovic over the line for tomorrow that looks like all the business Celtic will do on deadline day.

Celtic have been chasing Benkovic for some time and look to have finally got their man on-loan after Leicester signed the defender from Zagreb this summer.

The £13million man was at Celtic Park to watch the bhoys beat Suduva 3-0 to book their place in the Europa League group stages and Rodgers is hopeful he and Mulumbu will be Celtic players tomorrow.

Rodgers was hopeful of bringing in some more players but it looks like any other leads the club had have gone silent.

The Celtic manager also told the Celtic fans he does not foresee Moussa Dembele leaving the club tomorrow after Celtic knocked back a ‘substantial’ bid for the Frenchman from Lyon.

  1. Michael,if we get Mulumbo and Benkovic in,add to that Dembele staying,if only till the next window in January, then we will be in a stronger position than when it opened.I know the fans were hoping, like was, for two experienced CB’s along with a RB,but hopefully that can happen in January.Rangers badly needed to more or less completely replenish thier squad,we didn’t,our squad is more than capable of doing the “treble treble”.We can also hope to see European football after xmas with the squad we have as long as we avoid any group of death draw, something we haven’t done for a few seasons.Agreed we need to get back to the standard of scouting we had before Brendan arrived as the scouts we had prior were very successful with players like Wanyama,Ki,Forster and Van Dyke all pulling on the hoops then bringing in big transfer fees.Once Dembele’s sold another striker will be brought in,no doubt,my preference Shane Long, but we will see.HAIL HAIL
