Celtic will look to bounce back from defeat to Rangers this Saturday afternoon as they face Hearts at Celtic Park.

In what promises to be an exciting game, the (SFA) has appointed Kevin Clancy as the referee for the match. Clancy will be supported on the pitch by linesmen Ross Macleod and David Roome, while Chris Rae will serve as the Assistant Video Assistant Referee (AVAR), with Greg Aitken overseeing VAR duties at Clydesdale House.

A Chance to Return to Winning Ways

Brendan Rodgers’ side will be determined to put the disappointment of their 3-2 defeat to Rangers behind them. The loss, which came last time out at Celtic Park, was only Celtic’s third league defeat of the season, but it’s the manner of the defeat that stings the most. Despite a spirited second-half comeback from a 2-0 deficit, which saw Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate get on the scoresheet, the Hoops could not prevent Rangers from clinching victory with a late goal from Hamza Iagamne. That result left Celtic frustrated, especially after a lacklustre first-half performance.

Sitting Pretty at the Top of the Table

Despite the setback, Celtic’s lead at the top of the Premiership remains healthy, with Rodgers’ men still 13 points clear of second-placed Rangers. With the next few games crucial to maintaining their lead, a win against Hearts would see the Hoops inch closer to the league title, extending their advantage ahead of Rangers, who play later on Saturday evening. This makes Saturday’s match all the more vital for Celtic’s hopes of sealing a league title as easily as possible.

Looking Forward to a Thrilling Encounter

Celtic supporters will be hopeful that the Hoops can return to form with a dominant display against Hearts. The atmosphere at Celtic Park is expected to be electric as fans rally behind the Bhoys, eager to see them bounce back in style. With Rodgers at the helm, the hope will be that the Hoops can rise to the occasion and secure all three points, taking another step closer to a 55th league title.

As always, all eyes will be on the referee’s decisions, and with Clancy and the VAR team overseeing the match, fans will be hoping for a fair and controlled game.
