Celtic today refused to allow Sky Sports into Lennoxtown for their reporter to take part in the pre-match press conference with Odsonne Edouard and Neil Lennon after the club filed an official complaint against the broadcaster.
The complete and utter debacle of the Alfredo Morelos interview where the broadcaster put words in the Columbian’s mouth to try and attack Celtic is now in the hands of Ofcom. Sky Sports issued an apology after a Celtic statement demanded an investigation as to why this made the air.
The Scottish Champions weren’t happy with the apology and have asked for a full investigation to take place and reported them to the independent body for broadcaster complaints.
It has tipped over into Sky’s coverage of Celtic, with the club refusing entry to the press conference according to the Guardian until a satisfactory outcome is reached.
We doubt Sky Sports will care too much considering their continuing narrative and the pundits they keep on the books.
Celtic are quite right to do this but we imagine they will be obligated to speak to the channel on match days they cover. We’ll find out soon enough.
