Sam Cosgrove will play no part in Aberdeen’s Boxing Day tie after his ludicrous appeal was thrown out by the SFA this evening as reported by RecordSport.
Cosgrove was sent off for a reckless challenge at pace against Kristoffer Ajer at the weekend resulting in his dismissal.
McInnes told the media after the game his player didn’t deserve to be sent off and even accused Ajer of simulation and winking at his striker.
The appeal was fast tracked for Christmas Eve so Aberdeen had a chance of having the player cleared for their Boxing Day tie but it’s proven to be pointless.
Celtic won 2-1 against Aberdeen on the day and Aberdeen – while they scored, never really offered anything and Celtic always looked like winning.
They will now be without their star striker through his own stupidity and by his manager backing him like an idiot – they all look stupid now.
