CELTIC released a lot of young players a month back who would not be continuing their development with the club.

One of them was developmental defender Wallace Duffy who had not made a single first team appearance for the club at 20. The player was a regular for the developmental side and played a lot of games for the team who were pipped to the Reserve League Title on the final day of the season.

Duffy was told he would not be staying at Celtic going forward and was wished well by the club and support. It looks like Celtic fans will see the lad in action after all with Wallace on the brink of signing for fellow SPFL side St Johnstone according to SunSport.

Tommy Wright is looking to bring the former Celtic youth star into the fold and provide competition for some of his older defenders.

Wright has a knack of getting the best out of his players and Wallace is in good hands going forward.
