The Celtic Ghirls had no such problems grabbing a win on Sunday afternoon as they continued their fantastic winning streak against Forfar Farmington.

Fran Alonso and his team ran out 8-0 winners on the day, keeping up the pressure at the top of the table.

First half goals from Anna Filbey, Izzy Atkinson, Sarah Ewens and Sarah Teegarden put Celtic comfortably ahead at the break

Chole Craig scored from the penalty spot in the second half before Mariah Lee got in on the act to make it 6-0. There would be a brace for Filbey who grabbed her second to make it seven and Lee got her second to round off an emphatic win in Forfar.

This was a stark contrast to the game in December where Forfar held the Hoops to a draw. A result at the time that’s severely damaged their title aspirations.

Currently, the girls sit in third place behind Glasgow City and Rangers Women. They are just two points behind Rangers Women and five behind City.

Up next for the ghirls is Motherwell next Sunday. Glasgow City will face off against Rangers women on the same day. Fran Alonso’s side could gain ground on one or both clubs which has to be a major incentive.
