ANGE POSTECOGLOU was coy on the injury that forced off Reo Hatate during the first half of Celtic’s win against Hibernian on Saturday afternoon.
The player pulled up and sat down on the pitch after the 12th minute. It looked like Reo had pulled his hamstring and the bench was not for taking any chances, neither was Hatate. He was quickly subbed off and David Turnbull came on in the Japanese star’s place.
After the game, speaking to Football Scotland, Ange said he hadn’t had a debrief from the medical team as of yet but hopeful the international break will allow the player a bit of extra time to recover.

He added: “I haven’t spoken to the medical team yet. Hopefully having a couple of weeks with no games will help. Disappointing to lose him early because he’s been a big part of what we do.”
Reo has been ever-present for Celtic this season. When we come back from the international break, the bhoys have a title run-in that will see The Rangers come to the East End of Glasgow. Having the midfielder back for that game will be of paramount importance. We know hamstring injuries can be a tricky thing to manage. Let’s hope rest will give Hatate a boost.
