Celtic will again be without Reo Hatate this weekend as the bhoys travel to Rugby Park for the midday SPFL Sunday kick off.

Reo was injured during the first game of the season against Aberdeen and missed the trip to Dingwall last weekend when the bhoys ran out 3-1 winners against the Highland side.

Ange Postecoglou confirmed to CelticTV this afternoon that Reo wouldn’t be risked due to the artificial surface. It implies we could see a return the following week against Hearts back at Celtic Park.

Elsewhere, Stephen Welsh has had some training under his belt this week and will be assessed on game day to see if he’s fit enough to make the squad.

Celtic are retuning to Rugby Park for the first time since the club bounced back from relegation. Now under Derek McInness, the SPFL newcomers wil hope to stifle Ange’s side using the pitch to their advantage.

The Scottish Champions have famously struggled on poor 4G pitches but they did best Livingston convincingly towards the end of last season.

In Hatate’s absence, David Turnbull is likely to get another run out.
