CELTIC have been heavily linked with a move for Luton right back Jack Stacey over the past two weeks.

The defender fits the profile of what Neil Lennon is looking for as a permanent Lustig replacement but it appears the player now looks out of reach after Premier League interest.

Reports on Saturday claimed Bournemouth had submitted a £2.5m for Stacey’s services, but that bid had been rejected by Luton.

The Daily Echo report this morning that Bournemouth have come in again but this time have had a bid accepted for the defender around the £4m mark.

Stacey had a top season for Luton, playing in over 50 games and proving to be one of their best players. He has caught the eye of a few clubs including Celtic, but it appears the Premier League club have moved swiftly and offered more than Celtic may have wanted to offer.

Celtic will have to seek fresh targets quickly with so many games on the horizon starting on Tuesday.
