Speculation on former Celtic right back Jeremie Frimpong’s potential move to Manchester United has been widespread of late.
And now, Football Scotland says the right-back is in ‘advanced’ negotiations with the Premier League side ahead of a potential move that he is supposedly keen on.
The positive for Celtic here is that they inserted a chunky sell-on fee into the deal that saw them sell Frimpong to Bayer Leverkusen just under two and a half years ago.
According to Record Sport, the clause amounted to 30% of any profit the Germans make on Frimpong’s future sale.

This is a big boost for the Hoops, and the financial additives that could come from this move are vastly beneficial.
Celtic sold the Dutchman to Leverkusen back in 2021 for 11 million euros (Transfermarkt), and one imagines he will leave the Bundesliga for much more this summer, leaving the Hoops with some useful funds.
Said income will simply increase Ange Postecoglou’s war chest ahead of the summer as the Australian looks to further strengthen his title winning squad.
