ANGE POSTECOGLOU will have the winter break to take pause again after what’s going to be a hectic end to the year for the Hoops boss.

The winter break was scrapped last year due to fixture congestion brought on by the football shutdown and regular call offs.

This time around, it’s back to a bit of normality but according to SunSport, it won’t be back to Dubai for Celtic.

Brendan Rodgers instituted the Dubai summer training camp back in the day to help his bhoys recharge and go through a mini pre season. When Neil Lennon took over, the Irishman continued the tradition, the first year the Hoops went with Neil it rejuvenated our season. The second time we went under the now former manager was an absolute disaster.

Celtic decided it was a good idea to fly to Dubai while the whole of the UK was under new strict measures. They got the go ahead from the authorities but common sense should’ve prevailed. It was the final nail in our coffin last season – one positive case causing havoc with our squad.

It makes sense that Ange has cancelled that particular destination but the Hoops are likely to head away somewhere in Europe during the shut down.

Ange said: “We are planning for that now and we will certainly have some sort of camp. It will give the boys a bit of a break. We just assembled this group of people together without really being able to settle them and create a real settled culture and environment with the football we want to play.

“A week’s training will be like gold for us and we will certainly use that time, but there is a lot of football to be played before then.”

Fingers crossed it can have the rejuvenating powers of some of the earlier Dubai trips.
