After Celtic rejected bids of £10 million for defender Kris Ajer, Norwich City have upped their bid and are now willing to offer £12 million for his services – Scott Burns of RecordSport reports.

Burns didn’t confirm if the offer has yet been made but believes Celtic are holding out for £15m for their star defender.

Losing Ajer will not be easy. In such a poor defence last season, the Norwegian was a stand out performer and I dread to think what the stats would total without his presence at the back.

The report then details defensive replacements. Burns is always getting exclusives from his sources at clubs up and down the country, and in this exclusive, he assures Celtic fans that the signing of 19-year-old Mario Vuskovic is ‘edging closer’. He also name-checks Ko Itakura who the club are still interested in.

After some optimism from fans regarding Ajer’s future, it now looks like he is one the way out once again.

  1. Holding out for £15 million ? Get a grip ! If a club is offering us £12 k , there is no question of not accepting it , the player isn’t even worth half of that amount, Take the money immediately and pack his bags , End of !

  2. Decent player who will develop at a higher level, wether he gets that with Norwich is questionable .. but take the money and invest it in a squad who want to be Celtic players.. good luck Kris .. ?
