The Celtic manager saga has gone on for three months now and we’re all just a bit fed up of things now.

Celtic thought they had Eddie Howe in the bag but they never tied him down and the old football honour system was cast aside in the end.

The club tried to deflect on Friday when they said they were already in advanced talks with another candidate – they would have been surveying their options at that point.

We all have heard the name Ange Postecoglou since Friday and we have repeatedly wanted to reiterate this is coming from the mainstream media and not the club itself.

There could be others in the frame, and according to RecordSport, Celtic have even sounded out Jose Mourinho’s former right hand man, Rui Faria as a possible candidate.

The assistant manager spent 17 years with Jose at various clubs around Europe, yes, including Porto and tried his hand at management in Qatar last year. He has since left his post and his now looking for another club.

I’d be surprised to see Celtic go for such a novice, even with the 17 years assistant experience.
