Moussa Dembele was due to return to Ibrox on Thursday to face the side in their opening UEFA Europa League tie, however, it is reported that Lyon will travel without their star man due to an injury he has picked up.

French radio station Scoop is reporting that the Frenchman has picked up a muscle injury and therefore will not be available for selection on Thursday. teammate Xherdan Shaqiri will also sit out the tie as he is not yet full vaccinated.

Moussa Dembele has many happy memories against theRangers. In 9 games the Frenchman netted the ball seven times and assisted his teammates on four occasions. He was also part of the team that won 5-1 at Celtic Park but missed the reverse 5-1 fixture. In his first Glasgow derby, Dembele scored a hat trick as well as setting up one for Scott Sinclair. The final goal in the 5-1 thumping in 2016 was scored by Stuart Armstrong.
