Over the last few days, the talks of Eddie Howe becoming Celtic boss have ramped up and it is finally at the stage where it looks like it’s only the last few details that need to be finalised.

So with that begin the transfer rumours of who may be his first signings at the club. According to Sun Sport, Howe will target one of his former players at Bournemouth, Steve Cook.

Cook is out of contract in the summer and was seen as one of the key players in the Bournemouth side which went from League 1 to the English Premiership within a few years. Transfermarkt have the defender valued at just over £6m but the Hoops could get him for free.

The 29-year old has spent 10-years at the Cherries. Currently, they are in the hunt for promotion, so making it to the Premier League again could play a big factor in his decisions.

However, reuniting with Howe could be a prospect that is too hard to turn down come the summer and there are even some suggestions in the report that he may be seen as a possible candidate to be the next captain at the club.

It is inevitable that if Howe becomes Celtic manager, the club will be linked with several of his former players with this only being the first.
