CELTIC are in need of signings in January, especially in the middle of the pitch. According to Globo.com the club have recognised this and have started making some initial enquiries.
It is reported that Celtic have contacted the representatives of Brazilian Under 20 midfielder, Fernando Henrique. Aged 20, the defensive midfielder is keen for a move away from Gremio due to a lack of minutes.
Celtic have contacted the club to enquire for a price, the answer is not yet known.
The report further states that the Brazilian signed a new contract just last year which included a release clause of £33 million, it can be assured Celtic will not be activating this. However, there are some suggestions that he will be available for just over 10% of his buyout clause.
It is said that Fernando Henrique can play further forward in midfield but does prefer the defensive roles. He is a good passer of the ball and isn’t afraid to stick a foot in.
It will be an exciting transfer if it does go through, but the reports suggest the transfer is at a very early stage with no bid from Celtic yet.
Loan to buy seems the way to go. Don’t have to buy. But if he does the job at Paradise. Some other team elsewhere may?
