According to reports on Friday afternoon, Dundee have launched an ambitious play for Celtic outcast Leigh Griffiths.

The striker has not been part of any squads lately and hasn’t been utilised by the manager. Leigh signed a one-year contract extension, shortly after he was sent home from the club’s training ground in Wales because of an online incident.

Leigh was subsequently cleared from that incident but, it’s clear the impression he’s made on the manager hasn’t been the best.

Dundee are chancing their arm to try and get a deal done before the window closes. Celtic could loan the striker out so he wouldn’t be able to play against the Hoops this season and just let his contract run out.

SunSport claims Griffiths is up for a move to Dundee and just wants to play football.

His opportunities at Celtic will be limited and he’s soured a lot of fans perception of him in the past few months.

Could it be time for the player to move on?
