According to reports this afternoon, Celtic’s head of recruitment Nicky Hammond is clinging to his job amidst the ongoing furore surrounding Celtic’s collapse this term.

If this is true, then it would present an even bigger detachment from reality.

Of all the things that have gone on this term, Nicky Hammond has a place in issues but he’s not the overriding factor why we haven’t shown up.

He’s not the reason for not playing David Turnbull and Ismailia Soro until it was essentially too late. He’s not the reason why the club went to Dubai against common sense and put 13 players in isolation.

There doesn’t have to be a scapegoat, there just has to be an investigation into what went wrong this season and the guilty parties be held accountable.

It’s been a major failure at board and dressing room level. Complacency and bad decision making on and off the park.

Our recruitment, in hindsight doesn’t look good, Hammond will have to hold his hands up but the man green lighting everything at Celtic Park — Peter Lawwell just look inward.

  1. The scouting system is poor over reliance on English leagues and we don’t
or are not prepared to pay the going rate . The transfer decisions are apparently to slow and go on for ever eventually losing out as agents and clubs play us off against another . Its essential that our signing policies include other leagues that offer better value. But who identifies potential signings and who has the final say and there doesn’t seem to be any forward planning for our playing needs its as though we react rather than plan

  2. Over reliance on English league? Since when? Very few of our players were signed from England as it always represents poor value.
The idea of signing from other leagues will now be a big problem post-Brexit.
We will only be allowed to sign established internationals who will have financially better options elsewhere and the previous model of identifing promising potential ‘unknown’ players from abroad
is a non-starter as they won’t be allowed in under new guidelines

  3. Etf is happening at CP?
Although we may not have been exactly great in Europe over the last decade, even under the snake, we had our moments, but this season has seen a total collapse across the board, pun intended.
From the CEO, the board itself, of course our would be ‘owner’, majority shareholder Dermot Desmond, our management, coaching staff, tactics and player well being, transfers and transfer policy, communication (not that it was ever great), PR and that includes allowing the scumbag media to repeatedly drag our club, it’s players and support through the mud without response!
We’ve went from invincible to a drunk crashing through a funeral mass from one embarrassment to another in what seems like overnight!

And all the while *rangers* quietly mossie along not dropping a single point, not consieding a single penalty, always getting that hooky decision, always getting that six mins injury time when needed or two mins when not!

    Something’s just not right.
    Para?
Probably, but I’ve been para before.
