Slovan Bratislava director general Ivan Kmotrík has revealed that striker David Strelec may leave the Slovakian champions, despite the club previously being unwilling to sell Strelec for any less than a Slovakian league record fee.

However, with a number of transfer windows still open, it appears that come the summer window, the Slovan Bratislava striker may have left the club.

Kmotrlík discussed what has been a busy couple of days for Slovan with regards to offers for Strelec, despite the UK transfer window closing on Monday night at 11pm.

He said: (Sport), “I have to say that there is a huge explosion of interest around David, the situation is changing from hour to hour.

“In the last two days, we have received an enormous number of offers.

“We are negotiating, discussing this topic, but nothing is closed. So I can’t say yet how it will turn out.

“There are countries where the windows are still open. Negotiations were very close from clubs in a lot of countries. The offers are really too high for us to be able to approach it negatively in any way.”

It’s a significant shift in tone from Kmotrlík, who previously had placed such a high fee on the 23-year-old player that at the time appeared unlikely to be matched. However, it now seems that the market has shifted, with the valuation likely to be met.

The Slovan chief is optimistic about how much they could sell Strelec for, but there’s concern that Strelec may not even be a Slovan player come the summer, with a good chance he could leave over the next two months.

This means yet another Celtic transfer target may have slipped out of the Hoops’ hands due to a lack of willingness to pay the required transfer fee.

  1. Michael, you print some total garbage!
You are nothing short of a hypocrite!
As I recall you were among the first to bitch and complain about how we paid way over the odds for both Idah and Engels!
You said we were conned into both!
Now here you are trying to stir up some unrest among REAL Celtic fans by claiming we are going to lose out on a player because we FAILED to meet the valuation!
What YOU failed to do, was state just who’s valuation this really was! Celtic pay what Celtic value a player at! Not what OTHERS value a player at, and that would include YOU!
