Speculation is ramping up ahead of the summer transfer window as Ange Postecoglou looks to strengthen his squad further.

And despite already having two left-backs in Greg Taylor and Alexandro Bernabei, the Hoops have been linked with another.

According to the Daily Mail, Celtic has conducted background checks on Archie Brown, an English defender.

Just 20 years of age, Brown plays his football for Lausanne in the second tier of Swiss football. He initially came through the academy at Derby and is versatile, operating at both left and centre back.

He said to be available for a fee in excess of two million pounds, with Celtic having compiled data on Brown.

Standing at 6″3, he is a tall, imposing presence at the back, and this is something Celtic have missed on the left side of defence in recent times.

The champions’ interest in Brown is rather intriguing, and it now appears the Bhoys could be in the market for a left-back this summer.
