The current pandemic in football means clubs have less money to spend and it’s hit the transfer market hard.

We’ve just witnessed Moussa Dembele go out on loan with a few of £34m attached to him. Once upon a time Lyon we’re looking for almost double that.

Glasgow Times report Celtic we’re looking for £40m for Eddy in the summer; but as we understand it, that was to scare off potential buyers with an over inflated price.

The same report in the GT suggests the club are being very realistic with Edouard’s transfer fee this month and in the summer.

Given the player has just 18 months left on his deal and if he stays until the summer it will be 12.

It’s claimed Celtic want to at least double their money on Edouard, with their initial outlay being £9m for the strikers. It’s being reported £18m will be enough to take Eddy away from Parkhead when the curtain finally comes down on this season.

Eddy has been in and out of the team this season but has rarely lived up to the standard he has set since coming to Glasgow.

Celtic are set for a reset and that money, if Celtic can get it, will go a long way.
