It appears to us that Celtic strikers have two modes with many in the media; not quite good enough, and so good there are plots afoot to buy them instantly.
It feels like many of the media have got on very late to the Odsonne Edouard bandwagon, comparing him to Alfredo Morelos one minute and then reporting today there’s a £30m plot to take the Frenchman to Serie A – this rumour starting from the Daily Mail. The paper claiming the Celtic striker will become another record-breaker for the club in terms of transfer fee received.
The Mail Writes:
- Italian giants Napoli are plotting a £30m bid for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard
- They have been tracking the striker for two years and are extremely impressed
- Edouard has six goals already for Celtic this season and is catching the eye
Odsonne Edouard showed throughout last season he was the man and yet many still doubted his ability, it has taken another goal against Steven Gerrard’s men and four international under 21 goals for many of the media to take notice.
This is a guy going places and we know we won’t keep a hold of Eddy forever, but the relentless push we will have in the press now of £30m bids etc all the way up until January and perhaps beyond will be nauseating.
