The Athletic is reporting that Celtic have rejected bids of £10 million for defender Kris Ajer. This leaves a big question mark over Ajers future at Celtic, will he go or will he stay? The 23-year-old is thought to be unhappy with bids from Norwich and Bayern Leverkusen both being dismissed.

Ajer spoke publicly about his desires to leave last month and claimed he voiced this last summer. With less than 12 months remaining on his contract, it is now or never for Celtic if they wish to receive a fee for the Norwegian international.

Norwich reportedly ‘cooled’ their interest in the Celtic defender this morning, therefore signalling they do not value Ajer at a fee of over 7 figures.

Despite fans accepting that the 6-foot 5-inch defender would not be wearing green and white hoops this season, it may turn out that he does so. If the club’s valuation of the player is not met, it is unlikely he will be sold. Doing so, however, does run the risk of losing the defender for no fee when his contract expires next summer.

  1. Well , if truth be told he is really only valued at about £800,000 , roughly the same amount as Manchester United paid us for Brian McClair
