Israeli, Nir Bitton is being looked at as a potential target for Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Be’er Sheva. The Israelis are ‘eyeing move for Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton’ – The Scotsman reports.

Bitton’s contract is not set to run out until the summer of 2023 meaning Celtic would look to receive a decent fee for their number 6. Bitton moved to Celtic in 2013 for a reported fee of around £700,000 and has played in midfield and as a makeshift central defender.

Bitton was commonly used as a scapegoat but adapted well as a centre half, and was comfortable with the ball at his feet – most of the time.

A move back to Isreal wouldn’t be surprising, there is doubt that there is a future at Celtic for Nir Bitton.

The 29-year-old was heavily criticiSed by fans after a reckless challenge in the first Glasgow Derby of the year which left Celtic with 10 men after dominating up until the sending off.

Former Celt and friend of Nir, Hatem Abd El Hamed moved to Hapoel Be’er Sheva at the turn of the year. HBS currently sit 6th in the Israeli Premier League.

Nir is sitting on £14kpw at Celtic at the moment according to SalaraySport, could he get that kind of wage elsewhere?
