Celtic are going to lose a lot of players this summer and especially defenders.

Cristian Gamboa, Emilio Izaguirre, Dedryck Boyata, Mikael Lustig and Filip Benkovic all look to be on their way out of Parkhead at the end of May.

It looks like Cristian Gamboa could be the first to officially announce his Celtic exit if reports are true.

Costa Rican side Deportiva Alajuelense have given the Brendan Rodgers signing a way back home by offering the player a contract according to RecordSport.

Signed by Brendan Rodgers, Gamboa has never really been a first team player at the club with the defender used as a backup most of his days. In three seasons the Costa Rican has managed just 16 starts for the bhoys.

Any time Gamboa has looked to get momentum he was quickly hooked or suffered an injury. Brought in to give Mikael Lustig competition, it never has panned out for the 29-year-old.
