With Kristoffer Ajer reportedly set to exit the club, Celtic are keeping tabs on Oxford United defender Rob Atkinson.

As reported by Football League World, according to the Sun on Sunday, the Hoops are monitoring the Oxford defender as a possible replacement for the Norweigan.

The former Fulham defender is also subject to interest from the English Championship side Bristol City, who are supposedly ready to meet the asking price of 1.6 million.

It has been accepted now for a few months that the talented defender, Kristoffer Ajer, would be departing the club and his comments last month confirmed that would be the case.

Whilst he is still currently a Celtic player, he is attracting interest from clubs across Europe.

Defensive reinforcements are also very much needed at the club as we prepare to enter the Champions League qualifiers later next month, with Christopher Jullien, Stephen Welsh and Nir Bitton realistically being the only options at the back at this stage.
