Celtic are reportedly hoping to have a trio of January transfers secured, before the derby day fixture against Rangers on January 2nd.

In recent weeks, the Hoops have been heavily linked with moves for Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Yosuke Ideguchi, who are all currently playing their football in the J-League.

Supporters have been impressed with what they have seen of Maeda and Hatate in particular, with Ideguchi being more of an unknown quantity. All three bring a level of excitement, though, thanks to the success of Kyogo Furuhashi.

According to Football Scotland, Ange Postecoglou is looking to have those deals wrapped up as soon as possible in the January transfer window – even as early as before his side take on Rangers in the Glasgow derby fixture at the beginning of next month.

Although the report also adds that it would be unlikely that any of the new additions would feature in the match at Parkhead, it would certainly be interesting to see if the club attempts to push this through due to the lack of options in the frontline.

Over the years, we have seen the clubs hierarchy as not being very proactive in the transfer window. But it appears to be the opposite at this point, as we look to use the knowledge of Postecoglou from his time spent over in Japan, managing Yokohama F Marinos.
