Celtic are reportedly interested in making a move in the January window for Algerian and Nimes winger Zinedine Ferhat.

According to FootMercato, the Hoops are amongst sides in France, such as Montpellier and St Etienne, interested in acquiring the 28-year old on a possible pre-contract deal with his current contract due to expire in the summer.

Ferhat played a key part in Nimes campaign in Ligue 1 last season, scoring six goals and assisting ten across his 30+ appearances, but ultimately couldn’t save his current side from relegation to the second division of French football.

With the winger looking to move on from his side in the winter window, Celtic appear to be one of the sides who will attempt to sign the Algerian internationalist this window.

Ferhat, who also has experience at clubs such as Le Havre, would add more depth to the right-hand side of Celtic’s attack, which is potentially an area Ange Postecoglou may look to add to in January, after James Forrest’s injury issues this season so far.

If these reports are to be believed, it is certainly exciting to see Postecoglou add even more firepower to his frontline, heading into the season half of the campaign.
