Celtic have reportedly enquired about the availability of AZ Alkmaar defender Wesley Hoedt.
The 20 year old Centre back is highly regarded in Holland much like Van Dijk was when he made the move to Celtic a couple of years back.
Lazio have already had a bid in the region of £1million rejected, Alkmaar not willing to let him go too cheaply. It’s believed a bid of £2million may tempt the Dutch side to part company with the 6ft 4″ defender.
With Virgil van Dijk not hiding the fact that he wants to leave Celtic in this window or the next, Celtic must make the necessary moves in this window to make sure they aren’t caught cold at the start of next season as well as having options for the second half of this one.
Hoedt has been capped at Under 20 level by his country.
So far all transfer talk surrounding Celtic has been simply that, talk. It’s time Celtic get serious about who they need going forward.
