CELTIC have reportedly made an initial bid for AEK Athens Goalkeeper Vasilios Barkas.

The 26-year-old keeper has been linked with the club over the past month or so but RecordSport have revealed an initial offer has been rejected but Celtic are likely not done.

There’s also reports from Greece in Sport Time which claims the club are still very interested in the player but need to meet the valuation of the goalkeeper.

Celtic are looking around for a replacement to Fraser Forster. Right now, Scott Bain is Celtic’s only recognised senior goalkeeper. With the season starting in just two weeks time, it’s unlikely the club will have anyone in on time at this rate.

Celtic are notoriously slow when it comes to procuring targets and nothing looks to have changed this summer. It’s a big season for the bhoys, you would hope the club would make things happen as soon as possible.
