Celtic have reportedly made an opening offer for Sampdoria defender, Omar Colley.

Italian newspaper Secolo XIX have reported that the club are trying to prize Colley away from Italy.

As reported by the Daily Record, according to the paper, the Hoops have proposed an offer that would see them pay £1.8 million initial loan fee, with the club having an obligation to buy of a further £5.8 million.

It is thought that this first offer will not be enough to get Colley, as Sampdoria are looking for up to £9.8 million because they want to make a profit on the Gambia international, who they signed from Genk for £7.1 million in 2018.

Clearly, manager Neil Lennon is after a central defender with the tough tackler stereotype, also being linked with Brighton defender Shane Duffy.

It should be interesting to see if Celtic will go back in with another offer if this one is rejected. Especially, with recent news that it looks as though the Norwegian defender could be heading for the exit door.

  1. Poorly written again, you say we could be moving on the Norwegian international without actually mentioning the name of the player involved ? Poor !
