CELTIC are stepping up their pursuit of identified targets in a bid to enhance their Europa League squad before the transfer deadline.

The club has so far brought in Marvin Compper and Lewis Morgan, however, neither player will have any say in Celtic’s two legs with Zenit St Petersburg as they look to make strides in Europe.

This has left Rodgers looking at permanent deals as well as loans to give his side the best chance and a boost for the second half of the season.

With that in mind, the rumour that Celtic are still heavily interested in Chelsea midfielder Charly Musonda refuse to go away.

Reports late last week that the Belgian was already off to Bournemouth were very premature and with Chelsea keen to get Charly out on-loan, Celtic still remains a more than viable option.

The 21-year-old is a massive talent and it would be considered quite the coup IF Celtic could land the young star.

Recently, both Peter Lawell and Brendan Rodgers were spotted coming back from London to Glasgow together on a flight which was no doubt a business trip to talk potential transfers.

Charly has been linked with Celtic since the summer, can Brendan Rodgers use his contacts at his old club to make a deal happen?

  1. I know nothing about the player, but I do know Celtic need freshening up, even strengthening if we harbour any thoughts of European progress. At least one centre half, maybe a keeper and a midfielder ( McGinn) to replace Armstrong ( who imo has deteriorated dramatically ) . If we retain all of our players then we are fine up top and in wide areas .
