It must be less than 48 hours left of the January transfer window because reports are flying around today as Celtic look to land one of their right back targets before the window slams shut.

Reports today suggest Celtic could be just ‘hours’ away from landing German defender Jeremy Toljan, but according to the Scotsman, the bhoys have made a renewed bid for primary target Timothy Castagne from Atalanta.

The reports claim the Italian side have thrown the bid out, but it isn’t clear when this new bid was made, perhaps after the latest offer, Celtic then went all in with the Toljan deal.

It appears Celtic are trying their hardest to bring in a right back before all is said and done on Thursday. Rodgers has made the position a priority and was disappointed in the summer when he didn’t land any of his targets.

It’s crazy we’re sitting here with less than 36 hours to go in the window and we still haven’t secured a target. Hopefully, in the coming hours, there will be good news!
