Going into the January window, Ange Postecoglou will be looking to add further players to his improving Celtic squad.

Last summer, we added 12 players to the squad, but with the size of rebuild Ange had on his hands, it was very clear early on we would still be needing more additions in the winter window.

According to the Scottish Daily Mail, the Hoops will target two central midfielders, suggesting that might be a vital area of the field that we are looking to add too.

So far this campaign, it has mostly been a midfield three of Callum McGregor, David Turnbull and Tom Rogic. Outwith that trio, the quality seems to dip a little, especially in the attacking midfield area.

In that case, it comes as no surprise to hear that is an area of the pitch Ange is looking to add more strength and depth to, heading into the crucial second part of the season.

Recently, we have been linked with the likes of Japanese midfielder Reo Hatate and Shamrock Rover’s Danny Mandroiu. You would imagine this isn’t the last we will hear of these names or potentially others who play in the centre of the park in the coming weeks.

For now, though, Ange will need to work with the squad he has as we go into the busy festive period of the season. If he can get what he has got out of them already this season, that should hopefully put us in a good position going into January.
