CELTIC are set to offer triallist Leo Mazi a full-time contract with the Scottish Champions after a successful trial back in November.

The 17-year-old has reportedly been offered a three-year deal which would see him join and develop at the club under Brendan Rodgers.

While this may not be the news some fans have been waiting for, as many are looking for players who are ready to make a difference now, it shows the legacy Brendan Rodgers is trying to build.

The number of young players Brendan Rodgers is looking to recruit in order to build for the future while looking after the present should be admired.

Speaking in November Leo was in awe of the club when he visited.

He said: “Seeing the intensity of how they train definitely motivates you.

“We got to train with the first team a few times and watch them play.

Tom Rogic is a perfect example of a young Australian player who has come over and made it at the club. However, that journey was not without its difficulties!

The player is expected to join Celtic this month.
